Houston - NASA Space Center

If you have watched Armageddon movie, I bet you will be impressed how things work in space. I consider the visit to Space Center is one of my fruitful trip. Houston NASA Space Center is actually a training center for astronaut and engineers to work together. Every single little thing I saw and touch, it's real and being used to send human to space.

Lots of people been giving us tips if we want to visit the Space Center, make sure to pin the NASA tour as the 1st thing 1st to do. We were there at kinda peak time because it's summer. So our worse nightmare really turned out where there was such a long queue to hop onto the tram tour. Basically there were 2 tours, we queued for the Space Training Center in spite of Space Mission Control Center. Enjoy the pics...

Sound familiar doesn't it? Hehe...

Tahoe

I love how this Lake Tahoe picture turns out. I'm happy and I'm free! Wee! Haha, felt so funny when Ugly Truth the movie did actually mention this place.

No Feeding

I'm not MIA yet. Hold on, hold on. I'm bringing the last drop of summer heat of Texas to Malaysia soon! Wee... Lots of work and things to settle up here. This little cute squirrel posed for few minutes for us to take photograph with, I should have tipped it with food but there is NO FEEDING to wildlife sign everywhere. I regret that when I see this pic, sigh. Location: Bear Lake, Estes Park, Colorado. So coincident, I'm staying in Bear Hill in Melaka as well. Different scenery of course. (Duh!)

MLB Games

Paiseh... Been busy and tired these few weeks. Works pile up with training along. So, keep up with me. I'm heading to Colorado tonight so I have to skip another blogging weekend. I have to appreciate my time at here as I'm going back soon. Just a short update, I've been to MLB games (baseball game) at Texas Rangers Ballpark. It was Texas Rangers vs Boston Red Sox. Anyhow, I'll blog it more in upcoming posts.

Kiss Cam on the spectators during intermission. This is so not going to happen in Malaysia.

I finally got it!

Got what? Got this book! So excited! What? Don't ask me why I'm reading this, because I'm a typical lady who needs some of this 'factual' dose of book! Watch this movie if you have not. The people whom I watched with, made themselves did a lot of thinking on their past, current and future relationship. Well, some part of this movie did tell my own story too. Don't blame me if I abandon my blog.

I laugh

Before I sleep, I decided to spare 15 mins to write this post. Last Friday after work, we went to Parks Mall for tax-free shopping. So I had to-go box with me after dinner at Cheesecake factory, hence I walked to the car to place the box. No way I'm going to carry the box with me during shopping. (I sound so shopaholic) On the way walking back to the mall, I overheard a middle-aged couple conversation. I saw the husband led the walk while the wife followed. Below is the conversation:

Wife: Oh my, I'm walking really slow (I think she wanted to hint her husband to walk slower so she can catch up)
Husband: You are walking slow because I'm walking extremely slow.

After that, I laughed to myself at the husband's reaction. If my another half says like this to me, I don't know how to react because the husband sounds so sarcastic yet funny at the same time. Ok, time to sleep. So tiring after shopping spree weekend.

Picture taken at Dallas Galleria, lots of branded stuff where you can find Tiffany & Co and LV shops.

Austin Texas

It took us almost 3 hours drive from Arlington to Austin in the early Saturday morning. With the help of GPS, our destination was set at Texas State Capitol. Very little people (typical me) knows that Austin is actually the capitol of Texas. Hence, we decided to step our foot at Texas State Capitol. Texas State Capitol is one of the place to serve as seat of Texas government as well as the office of Texas's governor.

Upon reaching Austin, we were being greeted by high-rise freeway.

Magnificent interior architecture of Texas State Capitol.

The drinking fountain. It's still working! Basically I just use my feet on the fountain base pedal to have the water drip.

I'm not good in memorizing. Hence picture is the best way to refresh my memory on the drinking fountain.

2nd floor mosaic

3rd floor mosaic. Bigger heart.

Choir group, singing Christian worship songs.

Even model has their picture taken in this building.

Chia Inn looks so small under the gigantic window shade.

East wing - Senate Chamber

West wing - House of Representatives Chamber

The door hinge

Armadillo - Texas state animal. But I have not seen any real one.

The longest, straightest town road I have ever seen, it's facing Texas State Capitol building.

St Mary Cathedral church, few blocks away from State Capitol.

Most of the restaurants in Austin downtown only open at evening and we been driving 15 minutes around to hunt for our late lunch until we found this Mexican restaurant.

We were recommended by Leslie to go Zilker Park since he said that park is nice. Once we hit Zilker Park (and paid for the parking fee), we were curious why there were so many other cars coming into the park until we saw Colorado river and picnic areas. Omg, we never ever seen huge crowd in the park just to have picnic (yes, this is States, they like picnic) and I saw people playing water canoeing. No, we were not able to capture any picture. Obviously, it was summer and we were too reluctant to get out of the car. Never mind, we stopped by somewhere near Zilker park where it's a place with jogging tracks overlooking Austin downtown. I saw many cute dogs at that park too.... How I wish I can jog with my dogs.

Next day after Austin trip, we went to AMC (local big cinema, and it's digitized screen) to watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Paid USD5 for the ticket compare to usual USD9.50 as it's before noon show.

We headed to the Italian restaurant at Highland Arlington to have our brunch after the movie. Spotted the looooooong SUV in front of the restaurant.

Dessert time....

Apology for this post delay because I faced technical issue. Even this post pics do not turn out the way it should be because I've switched to photobucket and only starting to get familiarize with it. (Yes, picasa, you are disowned by me!) Next post, Houston!

(it's tax free weekend in Texas. So I'm going to burn big hole in my purse, again.)
